Come Make Some Soap!
Join Erin in her Union Bay studio for an afternoon or evening of soap making! These small, hands-on classes are designed to be relaxed, creative, and just a little bit messy.
During the class, each person will make their own custom 4 lb batch of soap — that’s 20 bars of your own custom soap!
You’ll choose:
Goat’s Milk or Aloe Vera as your soap base (this is a cold process soap that we’re making from scratch)
The essential oils you’d like to use to scent your soap (no fragrance oils will be used)
Whether you’d like to add natural colourants, including clays and herbal infusions
We’ll walk through the soap-making process together from start to finish, and you’ll receive an instruction booklet to take home so you have all the information we covered during class.
The Details
$100 per person
2–3 hours
4 people minimum / 5 people maximum per class
Your class fee includes your instruction booklet, all ingredients for your 4 lb batch of soap, and the use of all soap-making equipment.
Grab a friend or two and make an evening of it, or come on your own and meet some new people!
What Happens to My Soap After Class?
Your freshly made soap will stay with Erin overnight so it can set up properly. She’ll unmold and cut it for you, and we’ll arrange pickup or delivery within the Comox Valley following your class.
Coming from outside the Valley? Get in touch and we can talk about what will work best for getting your soap home with you.
Once cut, your soap will need to cure for approximately 4–6 weeks before it’s ready to use. We’ll talk about the curing process during class, including where to keep your soap and how to care for it while you wait.
Classes are being offered throughout September and October, which means your beautiful handmade soap can be cured and ready just in time for holiday gift giving — assuming you can bring yourself to give away any of your 20 bars!
